A deep rock excavation was undertaken using rockwheels and hydraulic hammers to form deep water treatment tanks and pipelines for United Utilities.

 

 

 

 

 

Castle Douglas

A shored coffer dam was installed in fully dewatered running sand to allow construction of new waste water treatment tanks for Scottish Water.

River Eden Fresh Water Inlet

A new fully screened fresh water inlet was installed in the rock bed of the River Eden for United Utilities for the Carlisle water supply.

As sheet piles could not be driven into rock, this required alternative sandbag damming techniques to create a dry working void.

 

 

River Ehen, West Cumbria
